Vacancy Description

We’re looking for full and part-time Support Assistants to join our friendly, busy staff team at Third Avenue, providing 24 hour care to the people we support.

The purpose of the role is to support adults with learning and physical disabilities in a shared home to maintain and develop their independence within the home. Other key duties will include supporting people to access the community to participate in new and established activities, and empowering each person to their own level.

An understanding of conditions such as Dementia, Epilepsy, Diabetes and Learning Disabilities would be desirable - however full training will be provided so previous experience within care and support is not essential for these posts.

The successful candidates will demonstrate their passion for supporting people whilst ensuring that they have the ability to support with medication administration, support a person with their finances, appropriate recordkeeping and to empower and promote independence within the home and out in the community.

We are looking for applicants with excellent communication and teamwork skills, along with a good standard of literacy and numeracy. You will also need to be flexible to work a 24-hour shift pattern which includes early, late, night and weekend/bank holiday shifts.

In return for your hard work, we will provide you with ongoing training and support, excellent staff rewards and an exciting future in our expanding services.

So do you think this is for you? Are you ready for the challenge? Well if you are, we would love you to apply for this post.

Please state your preferred hours (full or part time) on your application.

Estuary is committed to safeguarding and practices safer recruitment standards and expects all staff to share the commitment to safeguarding children and people with care and support needs. The successful applicants will be required to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK. This post is also subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check.
