Estuary currently has an excellent opportunity for a Building Surveyor to join our Property Services team on a fixed term contract until 30th September 2020.


The Role

As a Building Surveyor you will be responsible for carrying out pre and post inspections and surveys of Estuary’s housing stock in relation to responsive and planned maintenance, insurance and disrepair activities.

Additionally, you will produce specifications of works and specify/order work to properties within KPI targets, also monitoring / reporting on the state of stock and services. Providing technical advice and support to staff and contractors, you will investigate and diagnose defects, providing recommendations and working closely with contractors to ensure work is carried out in an effective and safe manner.


We’re looking for people who can embody our corporate values of Excellence, Care and Innovation. The successful candidate will be an experienced surveyor with extensive knowledge of domestic construction/repair and experience of dealing with voids, insurance and disrepair claims. Able to prepare specifications of works and contracts, you’ll demonstrate a professional attitude and an accurate, methodical approach to your work.  

You’ll have previous employment in a Building Maintenance department of a local authority/housing association or a contractor/consultancy environment, and will possess an HNC in Building Construction/Property (or equivalent) as a minimum.

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential as the role requires extensive travel.
