Vacancy Description

The Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic out of hours receptionist to join our Performance & Customer Engagement team, based at Centre Place, Southend-on-Sea.

This position has been created to support our local community, who use Estuary’s Family Centre facilities during evenings and occasional weekends.

Please note this is a bank post on the basis of a zero-hours contract. The usual working hours will be 16:45 – 19:15 on Tuesdays and 17:45 – 20:15 on Wednesdays during school term times only.

Availability to work 1pm-2pm and 4:30pm-8pm Monday to Friday is also desirable.

We’re looking for candidates with good communication skills and the ability to provide a professional, customer-driven reception service – experience of working as a receptionist or in a community building would be advantageous but is not essential.

Safeguarding & Recruitment

Estuary is committed to safeguarding and practices safer recruitment standards and expects all staff to share the commitment to safeguarding children and people with care and support needs. The successful applicant will be required to provide proof of eligibility to work in the UK.

This post is also subject to a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check. This is due to the workplace having shared access with our Family Centre & Nursery.

Equality & Diversity

At Estuary Housing Association we value inclusiveness and we are committed to embedding equality and diversity at the heart of our work. We aim to be an inclusive organisation, where individual differences are respected, where staff, people who use services, as well as their families and carers, are treated with dignity and on the basis of their merits, abilities and needs, and where everyone has a fair opportunity to fulfil their potential without suffering discrimination or disadvantage.

The closing date for applications is midday on Tuesday 21st May.
